Inside and outside lights

Asked by RogerNissan Jan 03, 2017 at 02:37 PM about the 2008 Nissan Versa S Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got a Nissa Versa 2008 I believe and when I
turn on the outside lights the interior lights
turn off and vice versa. How do I fix the
problem or is there a fuse I need to switch?

Sounds like either a wrong bulb has been installed somewhere, there is a broken ground wire (usually we see this in the trunk hinge area) or a faulty connection. Have also seen issues in the actual light switch itself. A tech with the proper equipment should be contacted to get to the bottom of this. Start with looking in the trunk/hatch area for the wiring that goes to any lamps back there (if that is the style it is) and, if nothing obvious then take it to a tech.
