If the problem is that the gate won't unlock w/ the key remote or switch, the lock may be broken. I've got an '01 Frontier and the lock on the tailgate broke. I had to unlock the thing (and hold the key in unlock) to drop the tailgate. Got it replaced, mechanic said he'd seen a few trucks have this problem. If the key remote/switch is actually supposed to open the back gate, I'm at a loss. Good luck.

I'm having the same problem with my Armada. The back door will not open with the keyless button. I am able to open manually outstide and the button in the door will close it, but then I get warning that the back liftgate is open. It seems like it's closed all the way. help !

I have a 2014 Nissan Armada and I have the same problem. I took off the side cover over the push rod on the left side and found that the small screw that holds the rod in place had came out. I used a magnetic retriever tool to get the screw out of the bottom of the jack holder spot, put the screw back in and it worked great. hope this helps you.

I have a 2006 Armada LE. Liftgate would close but not open. I tried and tried to figure it. Finally, it won't open because the the rear glass is open. Close rear glass(yes the one I didn't even know opened). All should be well. It's the simple things.

I have the same problem, Using the fob to unlock, it only partially moves the safety latch, I have to manually push the latch down further. I replaced the locking mechanism with the plastic actuator and cable attached. Problem still there. I wonder if it could be the other cable?
