what causes a dodge nitro 2008 not to change gears on the motorway?

Dear Tom, Thank you for your response, I observed that my car will not go past 50mph when on the motorway. Short distance journey is fine...can you shed any further insight.

I own a 2007 dodge nitro and had the same problem. However, I discovered a recall on the transmission and dodge repaired at no charge 2 years ago. Good luck... Leigh
