Is the a/c connected to steering in anyway?

My Ford Exoedition (2008) had a/c repaired last year.  a week later my steering
goes.  A/c has stopped working again and I am told it is the rear line this time.  
After they diagnosised it, my car power sterring or something has gone wrong.  
I have difficulty turning wheel to the right.  Dealer claims this is just an odd
coincidence?  I find it odd that same exact issue occured as last year, namely
a/c gets diagnosed or repaired and the steering jams when turning to the right.
