2008 Avalon Synthetic Oil

I have been using conventional Toyota 5W-30 oil. Can i change to a 5W-30
Full Synthetic oil in my 2008 Toyoata Avalon

You sure can. Why are you switching? I see no benefit to switching. You still have to change the oil just as often. 5K miles.

I thought you can get longer intervals (time / mileage) between oil changes by using synthetics and a proper synthetic filter

Yes of course you can get 10,000 easily with Full Synthetic. 5,000 with conventional.

If you care about your car don't be cheap on the oil changes. Going 10k is not a good idea. Compare oil change prices to a new engine.
