Re: rack and pinion/2008 Avalon touring

Asked by Nan1128 Jul 10, 2015 at 03:07 PM about the 2008 Toyota Avalon Touring

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm told I will need to have the rack and pinion replaced because there is a leak in the
power steering unit.  The leak is very minimal.  Do I really need to spend the $1000.00
now to have it fixed or can I wait awhile, monitoring the power steering fluid?  I'm poor!

Can you see were its leaking from ? You can try something no promises but add some Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak to power steering pump. Like I said no guarantees but it is worth a try.

Also like to mention that I have used it before and it does work depending on where the leak is and how big the leak is.
