transmission flush?

NO NO do do allow a flush. You don't even have to change the fluid. Toyota specs say the transmission fluid is good for the life of the car. If you look on the dipstick is probably says DO NOT CHANGE. You may opt for a drain and fill but NO FLUSH

If the fluid is brown and/or has a burnt odor then a flush may get a few more miles from an already shot transmission. But 'routine maintenance' at 58k no way. If the fluid is nice and red/pink, especially!

My Toyota Avalon is 118K miles. How can you change if you need a transmission Flush?

There is no dipstick on 2008 Toyota Avalon That is supposed to be the proper way of doing it I have 234000 miles on my Avalon I do this every 100000 miles

Dont listen to Fordnut guys, theres no such thing as lifetime transmission or transmission fluid, Toyota says that so you burn ur transmission and come replace it for like 2000$ or whatever crazy number they charge, if you open up a transmission that has say 160k the transmission fluid wont have viscosity and it will be complety burnt black

Don’t listen to the guy who told you if you have a burnt or black transmission oil in it smells burnt to flush it that is extremely horrible advice 99% of the time if the transmission fluid is burnt up there is clutch material suspended in the fluid which could be the only reason the transmission is even shifting properly doing aFlush will cause the transmission to do worse than it is currently

I had my 2008 Avalon trans flushed twice, at 100,000 miles and at 2000,000 miles. The car runs great and trans shift good. Oh by the way this is my 8th Toyota since 1988, and a 2008 Solara convertible with a dip stick. All I can say is take care you Toyota.

Toyota does say that it is a lifetime transmission and while synthetic fluid these days is better then non-synthetic if you want your car to last you should probably drain and fill the transmission fluid around every 50,000 miles. Flushing can cause more damage if it pushes dirty fluid into the wrong place and a lot of mechanics don't recommend that. Transmissions still perform best when they are maintained over time no matter what the manufacture says. That being said I am sure Toyota will sell you a new transmission when it goes out.

I have a previous model, 2004. 1, a transmission flush is designed to move particles, right? 2. the reason that a transmission flush is not recommended is because if the particles are lodged in the system where they are not doing harm, you can move to a different place in the system where they lodge during the flush and cause big problems. You are not dealing with the equivalent of a glass bottle that you can clean out totally! 3. I drive short distances. 3 miles is a typical drive. This is considered extremely rough on the car driving. Many stop signs and traffic signals. 4. Based upon 1/2 century of personal driving and having had a "modern" transmission fail, I changed the fluid and the filter every 40,000 miles. Lo and behold, the car seems to run better! 5. The last time, I changed the fluid and filter after only 15,000 miles because the color was changing of the fluid. 6. With a sealed transmission, there is only limited service that you can do.

With a sealed transmission and its saying shifter siliniod stuck. What can they do
