Radiator cooling fan

Asked by Vinceneedshelp Oct 16, 2019 at 12:14 AM about the 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok so i went to refill freon for the a.c.,
the guy tells me the cooling fan isn't
turning on, so he disconnects the ects
and the fan turns on so he tells me the
sensor needs replacing cause the
cooling fan should turn on right away
when putting a.c. on, so I replaced and
fan still is not turning on, only if i
disconnect, fuse is good, would the fan
relay cause this problem

The computer via sensor controls fan on and runtime. However when a/c is cycled it collapses relay in fuse box to bypass the sensor.

Ok so you mean the computer is the problem, wouldn't that cause the check engine light to go on, there's no check engine light on

Computer malfunctions do not always trip a light. However in this case i would start w relay before going whole hog.
