Why is my engine knocking?

Asked by Monkez64 Nov 13, 2020 at 01:37 PM about the 2008 Chrysler Aspen Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My chrysler has been sitting for a couple years and finally
got around to get it running again. After starting and I got it
to idle it started to make a knocking noise. I have change
the oil and filter and put an injector cleaner and 5 gallons of
87 fuel. The knocking comes and goes and it gets more
infrequent when the engine reaches operating temp.

If you didn't drain out all the oil fuel that might be some of your issue, the same with eying parts not being lubed. Keep driving it and see if it gets better.
