Control arm?

Asked by Prochaven May 23, 2019 at 06:11 AM about the 2008 Chevrolet Equinox LT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I was recently in an accident the driver hit the
tire on the driver side I can technically drive it the
tire is pushed back probably an inch I can still put
my hand behind the tire but it starts to hit the
rubber spikes coming from the leaf spring can we
get a good picture of it but would it be easier just
to replace the control arm or there might be more
damage done that I'm not seeing

Best to take it to a body or alignment shop, they need to look at the mounts and/or frame and see if anything got bent. THEN you can worry about tie rods and control arms and such. A regular mechanic usually doesn't have the means to check alignment.
