Tapping noise 08 suburban

So my 08 5.3 has lifter noise added cleaned to oil
let it roll on till next oil change.  Then this
happened woke up to go to work the loud all day
clacking went away .. Smooth as silk but then
started ideling badly like it was about to blow turn
truck off quiet as a church mouse and still no
clacking  but drive under load again misfired from
hell I was told lifters but hard to find stuck lifter
now that it runs good when not acceleating under
load ... I'm lost

Do you still have the cleaner in the oil, or have you changed it since? Gunked up lifters may not be expanding/collapsing like they should, so that might be one reason for misfiring. Collapsed lifters under load will definitely give you symptoms like yours. There is a TSB on 5.3's with AFM (Active Fuel Management) lifters collapsing/getting stuck. You can try removing them and cleaning them or just replace them.

Got the same issue on 2008 Chev Suburban. Piece of junk with what should have been a company recall.

Ridiculous!!!! I have the same freakin problem! Just came out of nowhere. Changed the oil pressure sensor one day because the pressure was low and the next day this shhh happens. Had the truck for about 4 months. Brought "AS IS-NO WARRANTY" (BIG MISTAKE). I was told i need to replace the entire engine. Gonna get a secong opinion.

I'm having the same problem. I took my truck in about a oil pan and the service guy at Landers McLarty in Huntsville, AL that I needed to get mine fixed mind you I had no light on. I had my all the lifters replaced at maybe 158,000 miles in December of 2017 and 14 months later March 2019 it It's sounding like a tractor. And I was also told that this problem should have been a recall on this. Reading these other people having the same problem, I think he did it for the money. I glad I read this.
