What is my fuel problem?
When attempting to get gas in a 2008 Hyundai Elantra, if I
do not leave the car running (which is terrifying), the car will
stall or not start at all upon start up after filling.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

You are right, you should not have the vehicle running while fueling due to a fire hazard. I would think you have an EVAP issue. Is the Check engine light one? Have the car in the shop to check it out yet?

Check engine light is on. Bought the car used on a whim on Labor Day, but expected some concerns. Apparently it had been a problems for quite some time?
