how hot should the temperature be on a honda civic dx 1.5L

My original temperature broke so I tried putting a
aftermarket one and it's reading 300 to hot even
the warning light comes on I just got the head
gasket done

mech. or didital ? whats the thermostate raited at 195o ? oh...take it back to the thing that replaced the head gasket !

It's a digital gauge that were u cut into the radiator hose and put this metal t peace that has we're the sensor go's screwd into
