Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2008 Audi a8l Quattro. The key is stuck in the ignition
due to a dead battery. I am unable to get to the battery to
jump start it because it is in the trunk and the trunk won't
open. I can't do it with the button because the car is dead and
I can't do it with the key because it is stuck in the ignition. Is
there another positive terminal under the hood so I could
hook up jumper cables to get the car on and get the key out
so I can open the trunk to get to the battery?

they have jumper points on all these cars under the hood. should be a negative terminal on the fender wall near a strut and one hidden under the portion of plastic under the windshield. Alternativly you can go in threw your pack seat to access the trunk as well and jsut pop the emergency latch.

There is a tiny pin-hole in the surrounding trim of the key-switch, locate easily with flashlight- just Push in a paperclip or other similar object and key will release.
I have the same thing going on with me. I use to like Audi now I just wonder who the hell let that idiot in charge to design the vehicle with the battery in the trunk? Smfh!! Now it’s going to cost an arm and a leg just to get a jump? Had I of known how shitty the design was let alone all the electrical issues I would of never bought the pos!
there is actualy 2 hookup points under the hood for jumpstarting hehe
That's nice Deathjam4, where under the A8 2004 hood?
There are no hook up points under the bonnet of my 2007 Audi A8. MaitainNorCAL has it correct. If you get the key stuck there is a pin hole to the left of the key hole, however, it needs something more substantial than a paper clip to effect the release of the key. A very small screwdriver or something similar would do the job. The boot can then be accessed via the lock on the boot lid. The battery on my Audi is behind a panel on the right side of the boot and not under the spare wheel.
Now what if the pinhole doesn’t work? I been trying to put a safety pin through the hole and it still not releasing
