Ignition car starting
I have a 2008 Pacifica. ..when I turn the key to start
it does nothing. .lights work radio works inside
lights work...you can see the milage and the sensor
to the doors work...the dashboard doesn't light up
and the car does nothing....no turnover
nothing...have you ever heard of this problem?
Starting simple... did you try jump starting it? ... It could just be a weak battery. Does the interior lights fade or radio cut out when the key is turned to start position?
Yes...tried jumping...still nothing....no fade of the lights when I try to turn it on...
While turning the key to start. Have someone put a finger on the starter relay to see if they feel it clicking. I attached a picture of the fuse block found under the hood.
Yes...it's clicking
That means your ignition is working. The next step is to check to see if there is power at the starter. I am not sure if you can locate the starter or if you have a test light or way of testing to see if there is power down by the starter.

At the main power wire or at the solenoid or s terminal?

Harry, what was your solution? I have a 2006 Pacifica Touring with the identical issues.
Did you figure out what the issue was?
Yes I had the same issue I added a 4 Gage battery wire and rran it from the positive side of the battery and ran the other to a ground (screw) on trans. Then jumped the car Starts every time and the issue has stopped. For some reason the wires used on this battery is not strong enough and corrodes fast. Took a lot of research no videos but I hope this helps there is one on YouTube to do this method I speak of

Wouldn't taking the positive cable from the battery and grounding it like Tori say make it arc out thats what I always thought

I've had that issue and currently have an extra ground wire as he described. My problem this time ended up being a broken ignition lock actuator.
