Overheating at idle

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Ford Focus 2008. No leaks. New water outlet. New thermostat. Full with coolant. Fan works. Turing on interior heater full blast does not help. I turn off the engine when the temp gauge needle hits the 3/4 mark. What else could it be?

Vacuum fill it. That condition usually means air is in the system. Sometimes jacking up the right side of the car and let it run helps push the air out.
CITYLIFE404 How long do you suggest I run it and are you talking about the passenger side?

Yes lifting the passenger side. About 30 mins.
Im gonna do that now. It makes sense because when I changed the water Outlet I disconnected some things for easier access. One of those things was a hose of some kind that let out air when I disconnected it. I wonder if that's how air got in the system.
Hm. After 19 minutes i had shut it down because the needle was near the red line. What is strange to me is that the engine isn't bubbling over and there's no steam coming out of anywhere; no indication that the car is over heating except for the dash gauge. Anybody have ideas?

It’s not really over heating. Sometimes air gets trapped by the sensor and when the air heats up it shows like the car is overheating
Stopped overheating. Something worked! Thank you for your help. :-)
Glad to hear it seemed to be resolved. I found this because I was overheating at idle. Blower fan fuse 30 amp was blown. Easy fix!
