how to sell my car in a different state

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

I had shipped my daughter's car to California where she was attending
college, until COVID hit.  She is now back in Virginia studying from my home.

We are also looking for a similar car here.

How would you recommend that we set the car.  I think your sight can help,
but welcome any advice.

Personally, I'd see how much it would cost to have the vehicle shipped home. By the time you sell the vehicle and buy another one you're not going to make much if any money. Plus with the vehicle you have, you know what you have. Another thing to consider is if the vehicle is not CARB compliant you're never going to be able to sell it in California. Has it been smog tested and passed in California? If not, then I'd definitely bring it home and continue to use it in Virginia. A vehicle that is not CARB compliant will never ever pass California Emissions Standards. Check out uship.com for a free shipping quote. Hope that helps! Jim

Js. Is right. You cannot sell a 49 state car in California.
