Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My mother-n-laws toyota 08 prius has died a few
times in the past 2 years. Each needed a battery
jump. The last time a few month s ago after the
battery jump the passanger headlight went very
dim. Now its out but will go dim for a few minutes
on high beams then out again. We dont know if the
car needs a replacement bulb or it has something
to do with the battery. Any and all info regarding
the light bulbs would be much appreciated.

Had a similar problem with my headlights not working then working later and repeating the process. I took it to get it checked and the mechanic told me the headlight units have an automatic turn off built in when they get too hot...a symptom of them wearing out. I had the bulb replaced and it stopped and has never done it again
