It is rated up to 45 mpg with a deviation of 6-7 miles higher or lower. See www.fueleconomy.gov for an explanation of how the rating system works, etc.
yes but I get higher then 50 miles to a gallon. Its a ugly car but great with the gas!
I average 44 mpg. I drive some traffic and some 55 mph..
It really depends on what type of driving you are doing. My 07 excels on flat slow freeway driving... ie Los Angeles rush hour traffic. The traffic creeps along at about 25-30 mph which is right in the wheel house for this puppy! Under such conditions I have gotten up to 65 mpg. The trick is to feather the gas gently to stay under battery power. DANGER drivers of conventional cars hate driving behind hybrids. They seem to get rather agitated when you don't jump on the gas as soon as the flow starts to pick up. Lay off the rabbit starts and you can laugh your way past the other guys that get 12 mpg's in stop and go while you clock staggering 65+ mpg's.
look like some good answers up there, it is comepletely up to your driving habits, I just got a 2013 Prius 2 in March and until October I averaged 58 MPG on 23000 miles. I got a 2nd one ,2008, for my wife and because of the number of miles I was putting on the 2013 in traded with my wife and I took the 08, but I had already proven my point with the gas mileage. PS all those fillups where written down and I have all the reciepts for my records!!!
On a Michigan trip with snow and temps below 10 degrees - I got 40 MPG. In Rain I get 45 MPG. and on a sunny day at 50 degrees + - I have gotten as high as 55MPG. Driving style is part of it, but the battery loves warm weather!
