That's expensive. Which hoses do the say are about to bust. The hoses have plastic couplers built in to hose that attach to plastic piping. Usually there is nothing wrong with the hoses. The plastic piping and couplers are what busts. You can actually remove couplers from hoses and go get a couple of brass tees to reattach hoses with clamps
Great answer, thanks. Finding a good, honest mechanic that will check this is another story .I was told it's hard to get to and I can't do this myself. Thanks again!
You are very welcome.
Just wanted to add, they said they were heater hoses & a connector. We can't see them looking under the hood they can only be seen under the car taking the cover off. My husband couldn't see any moisture. The other hoses ( radiator etc) look good though. My G35 has 100,00 miles on it...does this still sound feasible to you??
They are hard to see. Some models are half way down on firewall and others were at bottom. Probably yours is at bottom. I would just look at the plastic connectors and like. If hoses aren't swollen. You don't have to replace them. If you do see any sign of coolant leaking on them. Go ahead and replace. You can get them at local part stores. Dealers are bad about pushing recommended replacement parts in mileage intervals. Even if it doesn't need it. Is it losing coolant at all or look low.
I see this is an old post but hopefully someone is still out there. My 2009 G37 with 135K on it overheated yesterday and died on the highway. The infinii people said all of my hoses are bad ("Ive never seen anything like this!") - some burst and others are leaking. Its so bad that they have to replace them all before they can even run diagnostics. Because there are several and they are difficult to reach, it will be like $1500 - thats before knowing if its the thermostat or radiator or what. How badly am I being ripped off? FYI this is in California
Just saw this post. Did you ever find a solution? I had the same thing happen to my g35 which has just over 100k. The Nissan dealership is telling me the same thing! $1200 to replace all hoses before they even know what happened. Would be great to get an answer on this!
This happened to me this weekend. 90k 2009 G37s. They said that there were holes in two, and cracks in two. They recommended that all four hoses be replaced. Car towed to Glendale Inifini (bankrupt and closed). Car then towed to AAA recommended Infiniti mechanic and it was $560.00 for all. Los Angeles, CA.
