Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Had 4 runner at shop, they said they fixed engine
light and vac lights that were on, but I drive about
50 miles it comes back on. Now the maintence
history has been wiped clean out of system but
lights are still on again. Why wipe maintence out, it
had been reset , several times. They said they
replaced fuel pump? Lights are on again

Well you have to have it scanned for the trouble codes again, these will be "fresh" codes for the problem, and then figure out what the problem is. There can be more than one fix for a trouble code, the problem causing the check engine light to come on.

Code P430, P420 are on now on the 2008 4Runner after they wiped computer clean. What do these codes mean

P0420 TOYOTA - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1...Possible causes; Three way catalyst converter Bank 1, Exhaust tube Intake air leaks, Fuel injectors may be faulty, Fuel injector leaks, Spark plugs may be faulty, Improper ignition timing, Engine Control Module (ECM)...As the code description implies the P0420 code means that the vehicle's control module has detected that the three-way catalytic converter is not working properly (is not as efficient as the factory is expecting). Replacing the oxygen (O2) sensors may sometimes fix the code, but in most cases the catalytic convert needs to be replaced to fix the problem. If the P0420 code is combined with other codes, try fixing the other codes first......P0430 TOYOTA - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2...Possible causes; Three way catalyst converter Bank 2, Exhaust tube Intake air leaks, Fuel injectors may be faulty, Fuel injector leaks, Spark plugs may be faulty, Improper ignition timing, Engine Control Module (ECM)...As the code description implies the P0430 code means that the vehicle's control module has detected that the three-way catalytic converter is not working properly (is not as efficient as the factory is expecting). See po430 above....C1201 - ABS Inlet Valve Coil LF Circuit Short To Ground....This indicates a bad wheel sensor or the wiring connector may need to be replaced.
