Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Why won’t my Miata start?!?   2008 MX-5, 53,000 miles, otherwise in great
condition.  The battery is good, the fuses are all good, It just won’t start.  The
local garage put a new starter in it.  Thought this solved the problem.  Will start
dozens of times, the suddenly won’t.    One time, ignition fuse was bad, but
subsequent times it’s fine.  Anyone have an idea?

Check the connector from your starter. Take it apart and clean it and test. There is a TSB on my 2008 Mazda 3 hatch and I had the exact same problem. Everything else all good but no click just nothing. Turns out there is a wire and connector from the starter that will chaff and also get corrosion on. Worth a shot since cleaning it is free.99.
