i have this problem for a few years now, have changed ignition switch (electrical part), ignition cylinder, finally today changed the whole ignition lock module ( dealer sell this part for over $400, you can buy online under $150). Ford and Mazda have design flaws for these parts, they should not wear out so easily. Lesson : do not buy american cars, it is very costly.

Mine would not start and stall on me sometimes. Replacing transmission selecting gear switch didn't help, replacing ignition switch(electrical part) didn't work either! I decided to buy a ecm with uncut keys (already programmed) it's about $200.00 something after a thoroughly research and logical thinking! Bingo guys.
