Programming transmission control module?

Asked by Mazdaguy1993 Aug 28, 2020 at 11:01 AM about the 2008 Mazda MAZDA3 s Grand Touring

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I’m replacing my transmission control module on
my 2008 Mazda 3. Part #L34T-18-89E1E. I was told
by the Mazda dealership I’m ordering the part from,
it doesn’t need to be programmed, and I’ve also
seen multiple DIY videos where they state it doesn’t
need to be programmed as well. However, I’ve
heard from others it needs to be programmed
which is another $300. Can anyone confirm?

Hi, Were you able to figure out? was it a plug-and-play? Or required programming?
