What are the "hooks" on the front and back of the 2008 Odyssey Center Console for?

It is driving me crazy! I cannot figure out what these "hook" things are for... can someone
please enlighten me! They are on the front and back of the center console (the one that
flips down with 4 cup holders and tray). Thanks in advance to helping put my mind at
ease!

Just picked up an 09 Odyssey--had the same question--appreciate the answer. The grocery bag hooks on the back seats are ID'd in the manual but not the console hooks. Strange feature -- if you fold down the console your trash bag collapses.
