Partition shelf attachment broke - how to repair?

Asked by 7227 Apr 22, 2019 at 09:20 PM about the 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK 350 Cabriolet

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The piece that holds the rear of the partition shelf , near the shelf sensor
broke and the left side of the partition is just hanging.  I have to zip tie the
sensor closed to lower the top.  Any ideas?

this will be a PITA... check for a similar part on the opposite side, it will have a part number. I checked AllData for a diagram to no avail. Check for broken part or pieces rolling around in trunk. Finally, a good repair shop, BOSCH or some other independent that has a clue. Finally, the dealer. Emphasize diagnose only. Tedious, but not financially catastrophic.

I was able to fix it with a bolt and a washer - working perfect so far
