Is the gas tank really empty when the 'range' says you are down to zero miles?

Question type: General
I recently bout a 350 CLK and wondered about the miles to empty and the gas gauge
on my MB. On my BMW when it said I was at 'zero' miles to empty I really had about 2
gallons of gas - so I could still go about 35- 50 miles before I really ran out of gas.
Is there any gas left when the "miles to empty" says zero or is there something still in
the tank?

I don't advise running your fuel level below a quarter of a tank. When fuel level is low condensation can build up in tank. That condensation ends up on the bottom of the tank.
When the light shows, you still will have about 2.3 gallons left in the tank So you still can go about 40 miles depending on weather..I own a 2008 CLK Cabriolet.. Condensation is vapor which cannot go down, but rises above which can block the fuel line or in extreme cold the fuel line can freeze.

you will be able to detect the gas remaining within MB Star DAS here is the good document with pics http://blog.mbstarshop.com/2015/02/05/how-to-activate-gas-tank-mod- with-benz-mb-star-diagnostic-system/
