is the quad cab and the mega cab the same?

No, The quad cab seats upto 3 people in the back, while the mega cab seats upto 6 in the back. The mega cab also has upto 20 more inchs of leg room over the quad cab. I own the quad, and I must say, I really love my truck!! It has the power I need and When I had to tow a car 259 miles away on a 1200 pound tralor, It got the job done easly!!
