Repeat alternator failure

Asked by Taurus Oct 23, 2018 at 09:26 PM about the 2008 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Mega Cab 4WD

Question type: General

I have replaced the alternator a few times in the
last two years since I bought the truck. The battery
and starter are good but the alternator keeps
dying. Last April I bought a new alternator and now
it's failing and now the instrument cluster is
lighting up like a Christmas tree,  resetting the
cluster didn't make a difference.

I am replacing with the 135 that was in there but I wonder if I should be using the 160?
