Question type: Maintenance & Repair

so my jeep starting overheating one day heading home from work
(understandable 110 heat in texas) i knew i cracked my radiator and it
checked out and went ahead and replaced my radiator, water pump, tested
my thermostat and it was working fine, put it all back together and it was still
overheating, ended up plugging a water hose up to my engine block and
clearing out some brown water that seemed to be some kind of clog and
since then its been working fine, until today i went to lunch at work
everything was fine but when i got back my car was idling for about 10
minutes, and then the AC was not cooling and i looked up and it was
overheating like before. this weekend im replacing my spark plugs and
ignition coils seeing as it's also been misfiring after i fixed the overheating
problem. and i think the overheating problem fried my ignition coils but now
its overheating at idling what is this?!  and to clarify when it was overheating
before it was the opposite it was overheating as i was going and cooling as i
idled. now it was overheating as i was idling...what?!

Misfiring after the work? not before? You may have a bigger issue now.

Possible air in cooling system bleed air like this. Remove cap from overflow tank fill with antifreeze to full mark leave cap off and start vehicle and let idle you will notice level in tank start to rise this is normal once thermostat starts to open level in tank will drop add more antifreeze to full mark then put cap back on.

Yeah so time line has been about a month. it was fine for the last 3 years I've owned it I've kept up with maintenance, no issues. until a month ago when it was overheating, replaced the cracked radiator, and the leaky water pump. it was still overheating, shoved the hose in the engine block and had some rust come out with the water. it was working good for about a week but i noticed it was misfiring only when i was accelerating. Also noticed my car was barely turning over, so i looked into my battery warranty it was still within the 3 year limit so i replaced that and its been starting and turning over just fine. i ordered spark plugs and all new ignition coils that should arrive today to help with the misfiring, (this is my cheap hope to fix the misfiring) i've dealt with the misfiring for only about a week, and still no issue with overheating until yesterday when idling. before i left work i filled it up with water and took off to head home and only made it about a mile before it was too hot and i had to pull over, ended up by an auto shop so i stopped in and asked and they felt the two hoses that relay the coolant to my engine block and what not and one was hot and one was cold so were thinking there's a clog of rust in there. BUT KICKER. i left it outside that shop yesterday and came early this morning to try to get it down the highway to a relatives house where i can flush it after work and the 6 mile drive from the shop to the house my jeep ran so smoothly (still misfiring) but temp gauge stayed below half. -__- still going to flush it today but does any have experience in the rust build up? if everything i replace after this week doesnt work its leaning towards a blown head gasket which is not what i want to hear
