2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Asked by GuruWWRRM Apr 24, 2018 at 03:59 PM about the 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD

Question type: General

I have a 2008 Jeep grand Cherokee. On the tailgate
it says that the jeep is a 4 x 4, but in the jeep there
isn’t a knob to put it into four-wheel-drive or a
shifter on the floor. Can someone help me and tell
me if it is all wheel or four-wheel-drive automatic?

I think he means look under the front of the Jeep for a front differential. Check this site for additional information. https://www.allpar.com/trucks/jeep/08-grand-cherokee.html It says there were 2 different transfer cases: As for transfer cases, only the V6 came with the New Venture NV140 single-speed, full-time unit; the rest had the NV245 two-speed, with a 2.72:1 low range ratio and 48/52 front/rear torque split. This one had an electronic limited-slip differential, and was optional on the gasoline V6 as well as the others.
