A dealer completely blew me off when I was really interested in a vehicle

Asked by Guru9T2XTF Mar 29, 2021 at 12:46 PM about the 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT V8 4WD

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

A dealer I spoke with (several times) regarding a vehicle I really liked, but
because it was hundreds of miles away (they would not ship the vehicle) I
wanted a video walk around (they offered and agreed to do).At the day and
time they agreed to, completely blew me off, and refused to answer my calls.

I am so pissed...two other dealers have done the same to me.  All three of
them on listed vehicles on CarGurus.  What gives.

I can only guess, but the car and truck market is hot now and dealers don't have time to deal with distance customers and time to take videos and delivery. Basically car salesmen are not sitting around these days. I feel your frustration. But deliver will be on your dime. You have to be ready to purchase, so have your funds ready, and an auto transport company already picked out, so when you do buy, you can do it quick and the shipper can pick up the car and bring it to you. Consider looking local or traveling to the dealership and drive the car home. These days you have to be serious and be ready to make a deal without hesitation. First one who signs the Bill of Sale wins.

Dealers don't like people that are a pain in the ass. It is much less work to sell to local people who show up and look at the car.
