Problem

I started my 08 Chevy Silverado drove yo end of the
driveway got out left it running,got back in it to exit
the driveway and when I hit the gas it acted as it
was running out of gas and quit. Now it will not
start and my code reader says it lost
communication with the fuel pump. The fuerl
pump runs once in a while when I turn the key but
not other time but still will not start

Is it out of gas? If not it may be the fuel pump. I would also suspect the fuel filter.
