Van shut off right after I started it

Asked by Ora Aug 02, 2017 at 11:21 PM about the 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I started the van, it shut off immediately , then the fron headlight went on ,
then they started flashing off and on, , then I realized the right back tail light
was on, and there's a noise in the engine like the battery. . Car won't start
absolutely nothing. Light are going on and off for over an hour, I just went out
2 and a half hours later and the headlights are out , but the right tail light is
still on, I had to manually lock the van.

This could just be a weak battery causing your issue, but if battery is good it may be a security issue, meaning antitheft is activated on the van.
