Range Rover Sport 2008

I could not start the engine even I conect bu cables batery from my car to
another batery on another car.
When it star it, the engine turn off when I turn on the lights,

What can I do now? Change the batery, or the problem is another part to the
engine?

Hi, It means that I have to replace the battery? Are you sure? I ask, because I mean that the alternator is not ready and not produce a energy for the batery, If you are sure, I will replace batery tomorrow. Thank you very much,
