The sensor may have gone bad. If you really want to know the exact mileage, multiply the figure on the display by 2. I would not mess with it unless you are really picky, it may come to be to your advantage if you trade the car to a dealer.
mine reads less mileage as well! the difference is 7 miles right now!!!
