Had the problem on my 06 SR5. Scanner gave emission related codes. Turned out to be the locking gas cap that wasn't seated correctly.

Mine was caused by overfilling gas tank, of course the dealer sold me (3) gas caps before I started experimenting and discovered it was small amounts of fuel getting into the evap system hoses. I only filled to 3/4 or till hose clicked off without topping off, and after (2) tanks I was able to reset light with OMB-!! ready and it hasn't occurred in 2 years. On my 04, I had same issue, but discovered the hard way only use dealer non-locking caps, the locking ones leak thru the locking mechanism after a short while, and non dealer caps fail way more oftern.
