well the ordinary (what the hood sticker says) will be just fine 6 months or 6000 miles is what Jiffy Lube says but synthetic will last couple 0 three years...you've got to watch the level religiously though...the MINI uses synthetic motor oil and 93 octane gas...the Toyota uses 10W-30 and 88 octane...usually drive the damned crampquarters Toyota, rather than the cavernous and comfortable MINI....'round here you'll get your belly smashed up my the "pan-punchers"...scrapes on entrances .....horrible to drive~

Honestly....you're not a LAZY car owner...go with the ordinary...you can sneak out and check the level to get away from the voice(s)~
Go with conventional oil. Use Castrol, Quaker State, Valvoline. You are never be wrong with any of these oils. I been working on cars over 4 decades and never blow engine un intentionally.

If you check your oil every week and live in the city and your daily commute is longer than 15 minutes, use regular oil and change every 3- 5 K . However, if you drive dusty roads, drive less than 15 minutes, and are in stop n go traffic change it every 3k miles and the air filter too. Synthetic is great for extreme conditions such as phoenix AZ temperatures in Summer or Alaska winters even Montana or Colorado for that fact ! It keeps better coverage over metal parts and flows much better especially in the cold. Check your owners manual for the specific rating of oil to use. Most modern manufacturers oil meet or exceed what your car needs. I stay away from oils that contain parafin or other types of waxes such as Pennzoil. I use Valvoline (Toyota uses their fluids) and use the recommended weight my Sequoia takes 5w-30 if it suggests 10W-30 then use it because it will give that engine the best performance and was designed for it. So if 10W-30 is recommended use it. Synthethetic is not necessary or Toyota would make the claim in their manual! If you like my explanation please hit my like button/link. Thank you!
