Look for to turn up in areas with apartment complexes, halfway houses, high crime areas, check pawn shops for items you had in car, if they sell them they can put the out for sale or if pawned they have to wait. Did you have a GPS unit in it may can be tracked have to contact the maker of it. Unless the police happen to pull the car over they will not be actively searching for it and if it gets used in a crime they will be keeping it for evidence.

2 cars of mine got stole years apart from each other, both I found myself I searched just like Isaid above post and both were found in apartment complexes in bad area of town and both were less than 5 miles from the point they got stole, but if you do go looking yourself be careful, one of those I had to walk rite up in between a bunch of no goods to get my ride, I took a chance and no-one tried to stop me. I searched every road in a grid working out from the place stolen.

One they stole my stereo system and the other I had been working on a car away from home and stopped at a store just after dark and had 3 big tool boxes in the back full of my mechanic tools and a brand new skill saw and all was gone when I found them. The trans went out on one about a week later too.

I called the police to inform them when I found them and one of those the police told me to see if it would run and if so drive it out to meet them on the outside of the apartment complex it was such a bad place.
