what happens when you put too much oil in the car/

It will smoke out the tail pipe and possibly make the engine start leaking from the rear main and crankshaft seals

My answer is the same as Js08016: Too much oil in the pan and oil level too close to the crankshaft. The crank is spinning and churning the oil, creating foam in the oil. Lubrication suffers because of the air bubbles throughout the moving parts of the engine. drain the oil and replace with 5 quarts. Run the engine for a minute and check oil with the dipstick. If it is slightly low add 1/2 quart and check dipstick. Oil should cover the half mark on the dipstick at least.
