Can my 2008 Chevy 2500 HD Extended cab long bed 6.0L 3.73 tow a 5th wheel trailer weighing approximately 11,000 fully loaded? The truck has the Allison Automatic/Manual Shift 6 speed transmission, a tow/haul package, and electronic brake system?

oh yeah them 6.0L have enough power to pull that
Thanks. I am getting conflicting opinions from several sources. I pulled it 1100 miles and didn't seem to have any problems. The gas mph was about 9.0, but other than that, no problems.
your good to go. i tow a 28' travel trailer with my 04 crew cab duramax. just make sure to do regular tranny fluid change when doing alot of towing.. cheap maintance compared to a new tranny.
the 6.0 was not available with the allison, only GM's 6sp. HD auto, which is a good transmission(the manual select on the shift lever is the same). your truck is rated to tow about 9700 lbs. with that rearend- it doesn't mean it won't pull it, but it you get in an accident because you can't stop the load, you will be at fault because you are exceeding the rating by 1300 lbs. The truck will also wear out faster. The 4.10 rearend would have been the ticket, with a higher limit for towing.
You can also increase your MPG by using Premium every-other tankfull or a name brand octane booster additive. This practice increased my 2007 HD ext'd cab LB mileage by 3-4 MPG .
I've got 2003 duramax and Allison Tran. I pull trailer every day 310,000 mile,no problems, fluid and filter change is a MUST
