my sequoia won't start.. I put in a new battery. I have dash lights. It does not try to turn over when I try to start it with the key or auto start. the red key icon on the dash is flashing..ideas??

does it make any clicking sounds? listen to the starter and try to listen if you hear the celinoud/relay clicking?

no clicking sounds. nothing is trying to happen. someone suggested that the security system has been enabled. I can't find any information on how to disable it?

if you turn the key in the passenger door to the left it should dissable it! try both of ur keys!

thanks but there is not a lock on the passenger door. I did try on the back door.. still no luck,,,,,,it may be a solenoid problem.

My daughter just had the same problem. They said the after market security system fried the starter. It was fixed yesterday, 8/8/2018. Will see how long it lasts. :) Cost $600 with a one owner mechanic, not the dealership.

the car would pull back or pull to one side. never knew when this would happen. had checked 3 places, all said all hubs had to be replaced ($1500- 1800) and other thing. had friend to check. PULLED WIRE OFF SIDE MASTER CYLINDER IT FIXED IT, NO MORE PULLING OR JURKING hops this helps for you

I replaced the belt tensioner on my 2009 toyota sequoia when my husband went to connect the battery it started up fine weve let it sit for one day n now the car wont start as if the anti theft was on. Next day i went n it started fine went around the block it drove fine came back home turned the car off went to turn it back on and now it wont turn on it startles as if its going to start but then it shuts off completely any ideas??
