2008 Toyota Sequoia will not start some times and then later will.

Some times the engine will turn over but does not crank. It might crack for a few seconds and
then dies as well while trying to start it.  some times it may take a few minutes to crank it.
Some times you have to wait hours then it cranks right up.  It can be a cold start or a hot start
after being parked for about 10 minutes.  When i bought it at 48k mi there was an invoice in
the clove box where all the fuel rails had been replaced under warranty.  I have had it two
years and have 130k mi on it.  it has pretty much done it since I purchased it but it is taking
longer and longer to crank.  Used to it would always come around with in minutes.  Its like it
isn't getting gas.

Fuel pump? Fuel filter? Pin hole leak in the fuel lines?

No fuel filter on 08 Tundra as I am told by dealer. I don't know where a pin hole would be an issues as it only does it 1 to three times a month. Some times I can go several weeks without it happening. When it finally does crank a decent amount of blue smoke is blown out the exhaust. So it has some gas in there. I felt like it could be the gas pump going in and out. But I am told as long as it has been going on and the length of time that can go between the happenings that can't be it. I can put anywhere from 500-1,000 miles a week on the vehicle.

did you find out what is was wrong? I have an 08 tundra doing the same thing

I just purchased 2008 Seqouia Platinum doing exact same thing. I read someone said Valet key possibly. I do have 2 keys so I will starting using just one. Other than that I don't want to throw $$$ to dealer to research and throw parts at this. Any help would be awesome Brett@forrenttraversecity.com 231-883-6000
