Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Good day. I will be grateful if you can help me. I have a toyota 2008 Sequoia
and I intend changing to a new engine oil. Some friends are saying I have to
drive the truck within town for about a week before embarking on a 1700km
journey. Does the oil need to break in before I travel?

Will travelling a day 2  after oil change damage the truck. Tempeatures are
around 35 degrees celcius

Seriously, I think your friends are having a joke with you. NO need to "wait" before driving. Cheers!
