2009 Dodge Journey 2.4L hesitating and stalling

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2009 Dodge Journey 2.4L with 112K miles. Three days ago it started
hesitating and stalling out of nowhere. Popped the hood and had a vacuum leak
coming off the brake booster. I ran the codes and I had a random misfire code,
crankshaft positioning sensor code, and an engine oil temperature sensor high circuit
code. I replaced the spark plugs and the crankshaft sensor and fixed the vacuum leak.
Reran the codes and now I only have the engine oil temperature sensor code now.
After talking to 4 dealerships and 2 parts stores, I finally got the temp sensor and
replaced it. However it is still throwing the code and it is still hesitating but not stalling
out this time. I am kind of at a loss, could the temp sensor be causing all the
hesitation or am I overlooking something? Thanks in advance.

Maybe a bad or dirty fuel injector or injectors. Try adding some fuel injector cleaner to the gas tank.

Have you ever had the throttle body cleaned ?
Car belongs to my elderly grandmother..I threw some cleaner in the gas and took it out on the highway and ran the heck out of it which she never does. She mainly does in town driving nothing over 50mph. That seemed to do the trick. Thanks for your help. Now I'm waiting for a new pigtail for the oil temp sensor to see if the code will clear.
Mine did that...it was the oil pump...but was sending an unrelated code. It took months and many trips. Some young guy came out and talked to me like he knew everything...he may be pretty smart but just smart Alec with me, they were so frustrated too. I explained to him that I did not know how to turn the warning light on and the car was the problem, not me....a season mechanic said pull the oil pump...yep there was the problem.
