First thing to do is to check the obvious: Coolant Tank Reservoir and Radiator. Do you have enough coolant in the reservoir? Radiator condition ok....any leaks???

fans turning on? have a good thermostat? is the radiator cap in good condition? have checked for air pockets in the system or tried to burp any air in the system? could also be a bad head gasket, so hows the oil looking or are you blowing white smoke, even a little? a bad scenario would be a bad or failing water pump, are you about due for your 60k mile maintenance ?
