Access to the inside of my car or the hood

Asked by J Apr 05, 2021 at 03:19 PM about the 2007 BMW 5 Series 530i Sedan RWD

Question type: General

I lost the keys and the spare key to my 2007 BMW 530i
and my battery is dead I'm trying to figure out how can I
get in my car or at least pop the hood I don't know if
there's a way I can find my keys if they have some type of
GPS in the key or something in my fob but I have to be
able to get in my car because I think that's where my keys
are the battery was dead when I lost my keys in my battery
died because my belt slipped off and the alternator was
not charging the battery so I didn't charge it enough
before I started going in my car and you know how they
don't lock when your keys are in it when the battery is
working but my battery is dead it's been dead for a minute
but I'm trying to figure out how can I get in the interior of
my car or at least pop my hood so I can see if I can charge
the battery and they will unlock if my keys are in the car
because my x5 was like that if I charged it and unlocked
itself and that's just because the computer was resetting
or something

Call your local BMW Dealer and see if they can make you a new key using the VIN. I think 15 years old is the cut off but I'm not sure. If they can you'll need to go there in person with proof of ownership. Your driver's license and the vehicle registration with your name on it will work. If the car is too old you'll need to call a local locksmith. But remember since the new key is not programmed to the vehicle it will not start the engine. Hope that helps! Jim
