What is this?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
What are these metal pipes connected to my
fuel tank? I have a 2009 lancer 2.0L and
when I look through the wheel well on the
rear drivers side I can see these pipes
connected to the gas tank and they are
rusted, when touched one turned to dust. I
need to find a replacement part but can’t
figure out what they are called. Thanks

The photo does not show anything i can see but you have a fuel line and a gas tank vent.
So the rusty pipes in the picture are the fuel line and gas tank vent? The place where it fell apart can be seen better if I take the wheel off and I don’t have anyone to help me do that right now so I can’t get a picture of that. But when the wheel was off before I could see those lines running to the fuel tank. When I called an auto parts place and tried to explain this to them they told me it was the fuel pump which didn’t seem right to me, so wanted to make sure I wasn’t getting the wrong part.

linestogocom , Do you smell gas ? If you don't you soon may , if that lines runs to the gas tank and it fell apart then the others are ready to fall apart and leak gas . 10 years seems too soon for lines to rot out but what ever
Yes can smell gas. It also cuts off when pumping gas every few cents as if it’s full, and leaks gas but only when filling. I got the car a year ago and the area I live in has very heavily salted roads during the winter, unsure if it was undercoated every winter with the pervious owner or not so I’m assuming the salt getting up around is what made the lines get bad.
