What would the first steps be if you only have a body of a car?

Since we're talking about a vintage car, if it were me...I'd likely go to a Chevy Nova Enthusiasts on-line forum and inquire what other Nova owners have done to build from the ground up and how much it cost them to do so. THEN, I'd look at how much $$ that I realistically have to spend and decide if I can afford to do it.
