2009 chevy cobalt initial starting issue

Asked by AlecH10138 Oct 06, 2019 at 08:45 PM about the 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt LS Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Changed battery a month or 2 ago. Thought the
battery was giving. Then about a week ago it
started doing the same extremely weak startup
almost doesnt sound like cranking but she goes. If
left on for a few minutes and turned off for about
an hour/ hour and a half it will start just fine. It's
not the battery nor the fuse next to it. What is
going on. The connections look clean and
uncorroded but I haven't look at the starters just
yet. Thoughts?

Never hurts to scan for trouble codes. There may be a clue there. After that I'd find the various ground points on the car, take them apart and clean then and make sure they're tight. Starters don't usually fail slowly, they just quit working, but if you're suspicious about it take it off and have it tested before spending money on a new one. Hope that helps.
